ISLAMABAD: The Nilore police have arrested a man carrying explosives and detonators, the police said here on Monday.

According to details, a police team deployed at Thanda Pani spotted a man acting suspiciously. When he was signaled to stop he tried to escape, but was caught by the police after a brief chase, the police said.

On inquiry, he said the explosives were meant for blasting but could not produce any permit. He was shifted to the police station for legal process.

During interrogation, the accused was found a native of Mardan, they stated, the police said, adding that “nothing suspicious was found from him except for the explosive”.

Later, the accused was produced in the court of law, which sent him to Adiala jail on judicial remand, they added.
