ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday issued an order for registration of FIRs against five officials of the authority who submitted fake educational documents.

According to the CDA’s official statement, the FIRs are to be lodged against Senior Assistant Design Wing Qaiser Naseer, cleaner Francis Shehzad, Sub-assistant Zuriat Waseem, security guard Akash Masih and Naib Qasid Zainul Abideen.

“Directions to lodge FIRs against these officials have been issued to the CDA director security after completing formalities and intimation to the Human Resource Directorate,” said Mazhar Hussein, a CDA spokesperson.

CDA Member Administration Yasir Peerzadah said that the CDA administration has initiated the process of streamlining administrative affairs in the authority and that the process of degree verification will be seen through as well.

The CDA employs more than 15,000 people of which some 2,000 work in grade 16 or above. The authority started the process of verifying educational documents of its employees in 2011 on the directives of the then Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, though the process is yet to be completed.

According to sources, some eight officers working in grade 16 and above are yet to submit their educational documents for verification, despite repeated reminders.

“Hopefully, these employees will submit their documents on Tuesday and if they fail to do so, we will have to take action against them,” a senior CDA officer said.
