LAHORE: The Punjab Information Commission (PIC) has asked the home department to explain on March 6 why it denied information about the mercy petitions of five people.
The department has been summoned on a petition filed by the Justice Project Pakistan.
The department had in response to a request filed by the project under the Right to Information Act maintained that information about the mercy petitions was highly privileged and personal, and could be shared either with the petitioners or those duly authorised by them.
