THIS refers to the indigenous MS/PhD scholarships announced by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for Pakistani nationals in December 2016.

The students who got their BCom and MCom degrees from Karachi University are unable to apply for these scholarships as these programmes and the list of all colleges are not being displayed in the drop-down menu on the website,.

The HEC has centralised its online application system, which requires all universities to assign a focal person to feed their university/institute’s programme into that centralised database called Pakistan Qualification Register. It has been more than a month that I have been struggling to apply but nobody at the university has been assigned for this purpose.

The deadline for online submission of applications was Feb 15. Since these fields are mandatory I and some of my friends are unable to apply.

The authorities concerned should look into the matter.
