Water shortage

Published February 20, 2017

RESIDENTS of Islamabad have been facing an acute shortage of water for the last many weeks because of the inefficiency of the authorities concerned.

The residents of G-9/1 have not received any water supply for the last one week, while the problem of short and irregular supplies has been persisting for the last couple of years.

Buying a tanker every other day is not possible because the tanker mafia has steeply raised the price beyond the reach of an middle class family. The authorities concerned pay no heed when called.

The prime minister should know that being a developing country, we do not need any luxurious Orange trains or metro buses. What we badly need is clean drinking water, good health services and basic quality education at affordable rates. This is all we want from our rulers.
