KHAR: Five security personnel were injured in a roadside bomb blast in Bajaur Agency’s Mamond tehsil on Sunday, officials said.

They said the incident occurred at 10am in Damadola locality, some 12 kilometres northwest of Khar, the headquarters of Bajaur Agency.

According to the officials, the blast occurred after the personnel had successfully defused another bomb planted in the same spot.

Soon after the blast, local residents and security personnel reached the site and took the injured persons to the agency headquarters hospital in Khar.

Later, the security forces and the local administration mounted a search for those behind the incident and arrested several suspects.
