PESHAWAR: PML-N senior vice-president Amir Muqam has asked Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan to acknowledge that his party is unable to run the affairs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He said that Mr Khan’s party was given the opportunity by Nawaz Sharif to honour pubic mandate and let the people check PTI’s capability in politics.

Speaking at a public meeting at Matani, a suburban area of Peshawar, on Sunday, he said that if Mr Sharif ordered his party workers to block Mr Khan’s way he would not be able to enter Peshawar.

Mr Muqam, who is adviser to the prime minister, said that his party believed in strong democracy otherwise toppling of the provincial government was no issue for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Alleges resources of the province being misused by the ruling party

He said that Mr Khan was in the bad habit to block roads, take out rallies, observe sit-ins, stand on the containers and use abusive language against politicians, adding that an ordinary worker of PML-N knew how to answer but the leadership was not permitting it.

Appreciating policies of the federal government, he said that there was no parallel of Nawaz Sharif in politics who served the country thrice as prime minister, constructed motorways, made Pakistan a nuclear state and completed thousands of mega development schemes.

He said that Mr Khan would be unable to become prime minister through the backdoor because the masses believed in practical works, while PTI did not have such qualities which could easily be judged from its performance in KP.

The leaguer said that entire nation wanted the politicians to play effective role for uplift of the backward areas. He claimed that the PTI-led provincial government did not endorse the federal government’s plan to give subsidy to farmers on fertilizer.

Mr Muqam said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was pushed backward for another half century, as its people and resources were misused by the ‘player’s party’. H said Mr Khan was like an infant in politics who believed that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak was a pious man. He said the PTI chief should stop opposing the politics of inheritance otherwise he should take action against his CM because his entire family was in assemblies.

He also announced schemes for supply of natural gas and electricity on demand of the local leaders.

MNA Mohammad Safdar on this occasion claimed that the federal government was strong enough to complete its tenure on the basis of its plans for development, poverty alleviation, controlling unemployment, price hike and improvement of law and order situation in the country. PML-N provincial secretary information Nasir Khan Musazai and Haji Sifatullah also spoke on the occasion.
