PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Planning and Development (P&D) Department has finalised preparation for the third joint consultative session with international development partners under the Strategic Development Partnership Framework (SDPF) to be held on Jan 24 in Islamabad.

The day-long session will be attended by the development partners and heads of all the departments of KP government.

According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, the joint session of the Sectoral Coordination Committees was a platform to strengthen the SDPF process through joint review of the progress of all service delivery departments, identify challenges and come up with shared development agenda to be pursued in the coming one year to achieve tangible development targets.

The recommendations of this session will be then endorsed by a high-level dialogue to be chaired by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and attended by the heads of foreign missions.

Introduced in Oct 2013,the SDPF is a partnership framework between the KP government and international donors to achieve shared and common development objectives in the province. The framework, it said, was aimed at creating partnership for facilitating socio-economic development of the province through concerted efforts by the government and development partners.

The statement said that the developments on SDPF had resulted in mobilising the government departments and development partners on a single agenda for socio-economic development in the province.
