LAHORE: Over three million students are likely to appear in the annual examinations of secondary education (9th and 10) being held by nine boards of intermediate and secondary education (BISEs) from March 1 to April 3 across the province.
Since the aforementioned schedule is tentative, the BISEs will announce a final programme by the end of this month, according to a senior official.
“The Lahore board alone has so far received admission forms from as many as 530,000 regular and private students. And the number may increase as many submit forms with double fee,” said the BISE official on Monday.
Talking to Dawn on the request of anonymity, he said the Gujranwala board had so far received admission forms from 490,000 students. Likewise, the number of candidates appearing in the limits of Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan and Sahiwal boards could be approximately 2m or so, the official added.
He said the annual exams for class-X and IX would tentatively be held from March 1 to 16 and March 17 to April 3, respectively.
PU: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir has asked the supervisors and heads of departments to ensure quality in synopsis of PhD candidates to be presented to Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB).
He was addressing the ASRB meeting at the committee room on Monday.
The meeting approved 19 PhD synopses, two evaluation reports, seven panels of examiners, eight extension and two miscellaneous cases.
