ISLAMABAD: Police are awaiting the call data records (CDR) of Samar Abbas, a Karachi-based activist who reportedly went missing from the capital on Jan 7.
The family of Mr Abbas, who is president of the Civil Progressive Alliance Pakistan (CPAP), filed an application with Ramna police on Saturday.
They told police that in their last contact with him, he had told them his location was Sector G-11.
Ramna Station House Officer (SHO) Irshad Abro said that the application submitted by the family only mentioned that before his disappearance, Mr Abbas said he was in G-11. “It has been decided to obtain his CDR to confirm his location before registering an FIR,” he said.
This, he said, would not only confirm his location but would also give investigators something to go on.
