LAHORE: An eight-year-old boy suffered a twine-related injury in Green Town on Saturday.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and sought a report from Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains. He also directed the CCPO to take stern action against kite flyers in different areas of the city. Police said Omer and his brother Shahid were on their way home by a motorcycle when a stray kite twine fell on them near Township.
The twine entangled in the neck of Omar, leaving him injured. He was discharged after first aid at Jinnah Hospital.
However, a spokesman for the DIG (operation) denied any kite flying incident in and around Green Town.
He said police checked Jinnah and Lahore General hospitals and did not find any boy injured by twine.
