I stand for girls

This is regarding the mail “I stand for girls” by Afifa Talpur (YW, November 19). I disagree with the writer that only ‘girls’ are unique. All the creations of God almighty are unique.

It is wrong to say that only girls are unique, boys also have uniqueness in them; however, it is a person’s actions and behaviour that make them inferior or superior to others. We should all have a neutral mindset and should understand that we are all unique in our own way.

The straight ‘A’s syndrome

This is regarding the article “The straight ‘A’s syndrome” by Salman Ahmed Qureshi (YW, November 19). I agree with the writer that we, the students, are always engrossed in studying and miss out on the fun part of life. We are too obsessed with getting top grades that we hardly consider the second or third position as good enough.

This is a wrong way of thinking. It is healthy to take studies normally and don’t make ourselves sick or obsessed with grades.

Nature-inspired discoveries and inventions

This is with reference to the cover article “Nature-inspired discoveries and inventions” by Mohammad Niaz (YW, November 19). It was a very interesting article because it informed us about how humans have taken inspiration from birds, fish, cats, ducks, termites, etc., and have made impressive machines and devices.

I would like to suggest to the YW team to publish more nature-related articles.

Cooking is my passion

This is regarding the story “Cooking is my passion” by Nida Jamal (YW, November 19). It was a remarkable story highlighting such an issue. Usually, boys feel embarrass to tell their friends if they like cooking, however, it should not be taken as a taboo or a gender-specific thing.

I like baking. I do it with the help of my mum and I am never embarrassed to tell about it to anyone because it is something I like, so I will do it.

I appreciate the writer and the YW team for publishing this story. Our media, whether print or electronic, can also help to change people’s wrong perceptions.

Spotlight

I am a big fan of Spotlight section because it provides us information about what is happening in the entertainment world. The news is always interesting and that’s why I would request the YW team to always publish more news in this column.

Apart from that, “The weekly weird” section is also amazing and the news in it make us realise what an amazing world we are living in! Both the sections are unique in their own way and I think more space should be given to them.
