SIALKOT: Female students of social work department of the Punjab University, Lahore, launched on Wednesday a cleanliness campaign at Mandraanwala village, Daska tehsil, in collaboration with a local NGO.

The PU social work department students reached here to launch the three-day cleanliness campaign as part of their social work.

The students also took out a rally. A large number of people, including students and teachers of local government schools , officials of the social welfare department, traders and human rights activists participated in the rally.

The participants in the rally, led by PU girl students, marched on rural streets and link roads. They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans highlighting the significance of cleanliness.

The PU students also picked garbage from various spots as part of the drive.
