Passenger list of crashed PIA flight PK-661

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-661 carrying more than 40 passengers crashed on the way to Islamabad from Chitral on Wednesday.

There were 31 men, nine women and two infants onboard the ill-fated flight.

Aisha was enroute to Islamabad where she had planned to collect her educational certificates. “She was very happy,” a relative of Aysha, Samiullah, told Dawn.Com. “She was in the middle of preparing her travel documents, planning to go to Canada to be with her husband,” he added.

Ahmed Mansoor Janjua, besides being a pilot was an aspiring footballer. His friends recall him to be "one of the most happiest and fun loving people.” He was registered with the Overseas Football Club, DFA East Karachi.

I respectfully request authorities to shutdown PIA until all aircrafts are thoroughly inspected and cleared for flying by independent authority. All these precious lives lost deserves immediate actions to be taken so that further loss can be prevented. Condolences to families of departed.

ALI: Totally agree with you PIA planes should be fully inspected also if the aeroplanes have been found unfit for purpose then the passengers should be allowed to sue the airline for losses. This is the world we live in once these companies get fined and law suits against them they will only then put safety first before profit. Sorry to say but it is the truth

I am so sad for loss of live so many Pakistanis. This is very dangerous route aa my brother-inlaw died piloting C 130 of PAF in 1968 with 68 people on board. Our brave pilots fly this route without fear as this is the most difficult route to fly in high mountaionous area.

@Ali Most of the recently plane crashed in Pakistan were due to pilot errors. I think authorities can take better decision about grounding the planes. I hope they make better future plans to avoid any accidents.

Too tragic and sorrowful even to describe. The worst part is that not a single body is found intact. When someone dies then relatives and friends see the face of their loved one before burial so they are bit pacified but in this case none knows whose leg or hand is found. I will suggest that on passenger manifest he /she must be personified in full along with father name. Here one finds many passengers with just two names like Farah Naz, Muhammad Khawar. Surprisingly there is one named just Aisha. Now as and when anyone reads the news then people would like to figure out as who are those who lost their lives but with incomplete names it is more guess than certainty to personify the ill fated souls. no proper investigation procedures exist in Pakistan. Nothing much will be done. as Nawaz regime is a regime of lazy in effective no action French maker ATR officials will not be called. NTSB will not be called. Black box details and investigations will never be told to public

Another Sad Demise for Pakistan History, As per internal news the plane was grounded a year ago. & all this happened because of government corruption, ishaq dar wants to purchase PIA, by hook or by crook just to purchase 7 star hotel that's owned by PIA. Our country rulers are damn responsible for this great loss. Indeed a loss we cannot overcome. Our corrupt government are disqualified to be a Humein being. My heart just tore up.

Loss of lives anywhere by any cause is saddening. Its always better to pro-active and prompt enough for routine checkups of planes than to be sorry. Heard lot about poor condition of planes in use by PIA, would request you to take strict actions and corrective actions so that these things shouldn't be repeated in future.

No words can be a balm enough. Only the families and friends know the deep pain. Till i saw the pictures and list of names the number of victims was just a number (though a horrifying one). But the pictures gave painful shape, colors to the number and list of names. If a stranger like me feels so much, the families must inconsolable. Hope airlines as well as airports in India and Pakistan work very, very hard on safety.

Fakhar-e-Alam is right in suggesting that the CAA will most likely report that the crash was due to 'Pilot Error', simply because the pilot is dead and cannot testify that it was catastrophic maintenance failure that was the culprit.

We need to focus on what caused the crash and take preventive measures. Seems the ATR does not have a good safety record. How about compensation being paid to relatives of the deceased to help them by PIA and its insurance companies. People should refrain from travelling in the ATR-42 until proper invesitgation and root cause is determined by european and international safety boards. Have reservations in trusting CAA managed by Pakistanis.(http://www.airsafe.com/events/models/atr.htm)

My Heart goes out to all who have lost their loved ones in a tragic incident. May all the gone souls Rest in peace. Ameen . Its time for People of Pakistan to pressure the government to intact super strong regulations for aviation industry as there has been a number of plane incidents in the last 10 years in Pakistan alone.
