ISLAMABAD: Legendary squash champion Jansher Khan on monday expressed delight over the return of international squash to Pakistan with the staging of Serena Chief of Air Staff Tournament 2016 and said it will hopefully pave the way for more such international tournament in near future.

Talking to media here, Jansher said the credit for the restoration of the international squash activity in the country goes to Pakistan Squash Federation President, Chief of Air Staff Sohail Aman whose keen interest in the game and support for the players has been the key factor.

“Sohail Aman is taking personal interest in revival of the game in Pakistan and his efforts are already bearing fruit as the Serena CAS event has been a big success,” said Jansher.

The eight-time world open champion also praised title winner Farhan Mehboob. “Our players have great talent but lag behind due to lack of exposure in international squash events,” he said. “They can beat the best in the world I feel and if the govt gives full support to them, our boys can once again rule the game.”

Jansher stressed the authorities to keep patronising the game so that Pakistan could regain the past glory.
