LAHORE: A man was allegedly shot dead at a farmhouse in Barki on Sunday.

Police said Asad Ali Raza, 24, went to attend a marriage ceremony of his friend at a farmhouse on Barki Road where a music concert was also going on.

Police said Asad had a scuffle with Sikander and Majeed over some issue. They pulled out their guns and shot at and injured him. The suspects managed their escape.

Asad succumbed to his wounds some four hours after treatment at Jinnah Hospital.

Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy and recorded statements of eyewitnesses.

Barki police later registered a murder case against two suspects.

SHO SI Naveed Azam said they were conducting raids to arrest the suspects.

SUICIDE: A newly-married woman reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her house in Naulakha on Sunday.

Police said Ayesha, 30, of Aik Moria Pul, was at her house when her husband Imran Riaz left for his work in the morning. Police said later the neighbours had found the woman hanging from the ceiling fan at her house.

Investigating Officer Sarwar said the woman had contracted third marriage three months ago. He said victim’s parents refused autopsy. The body was handed over to the family.
