Man shot dead

TAXILA: A man shot dead his cousin over a land dispute in village Babarki in the Hassanbadal police area on Friday.

Quoting family sources, police said Zafar Ali had a dispute over a piece of land with his first cousin Mohammad Asif. On Friday, both exchanged hot words over cultivation of land resultantly Asif took out his 30 bore pistol and shot him.

The injured was first shifted to THQ hospital then to DHQ hospital Rawalpindi where he died of injuries.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man tried to commit suicide in Jallo Burhan area. Police said that Arbaz Khan, a native of Mianwali took poisonous pills and was taken to THQ hospital from where he was shifted to DHQ hospital Rawalpindi.

Hassanbadal police have registered separate cases and started investigation.

Separately, a motorcyclist was crushed to death by a tractor trolley in Wah Saddar police area on Friday.

Arshad Ali reported to police that his brother Asad Ali was going on his motorcycle when the tractor trolley hit him killing him on the spot.
