SIALKOT: Three friends among six people were killed and 10 others were injured in two road accidents on Tuesday.

Three youths were killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a van and a tractor-trolley near Nole Mor in Sialkot.

Five friends – ­Sadaqat, Rizwan, Hamza Aamir, Awais and Sarfraz – were going towards Sialkot city in a van when it hit an overloaded tractor-trolley. The collision was so strong that it killed Sadaqat, Rizwan and Hamza Aamir, on the spot. All of them were 17 to 20 years old.

Awais and Hamza Sarfraz sustained serious injuries. Awais was shifted to the Mayo Hospital in a critical condition.

Rescue 1122 officials shifted the bodies to the Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital, Sialkot, for autopsy.

BAHAWALNAGAR: Three persons were killed and eight others injured seriously in an accident in the Takht Mahal police precincts.

A van en route to Bahawalnagar rammed into a stationary trailer near Jhandeka. Sharif Din and Saleem died on the spot, while nine others were injured.

Rescue teams shifted the injured people and the bodies to the DHQ Hospital.

Later, another injured person, Nazir, succumbed to his injuries. The remaining injured were being treated.
