FAISALABAD: A teacher allegedly thrashed on Thursday five of his students who had complained to the principal about “academic’s habit of attending his mobile phone most of study hours”.

Students of the Government High School, Chak 429-GB, told the principal that their teacher was in the habit of using his mobile phone in the classroom during study timings. When the teacher got wind of the complaint, he clubbed the students as ‘punishment’. One of the students said he had marks of a lash on his chest.

Parents of the students protested against the teacher and requested Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to order strict action against him.

They said if the teacher had any grievance at all, he should have reported it to the principal for disciplinary action and there was no justification for corporal punishment.
