KARACHI: A string puppetry festival organised by Thespianz Theatre and the Karachi Youth Initiative began on Wednesday and will carry on till January 2017, announced the artistic director of Thespianz Theatre Faisal Malik at a press conference on Wednesday evening.
Mr Malik said the festival was part of the healing process for the city. He said the city had been grappling with many issues for the past few years and the festival aimed to heal the city by virtue of entertainment.
He said there would be more than 300 performances in 79 areas of the city. He said the performances would take place in schools, colleges and universities. He said three plays — Jheel Saiful Malook, Sindbad and one promoting harmony between the four provinces — would be presented during the festival.
