LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) Insaf Tiger Force (ITF) has finalised a strategy and constituted 40 teams to evade anticipated arrests by the government and ensure they take workers and supporters to Islamabad while dodging any possible hindrances.

ITF President Syed Rashid Riaz Shah directed force members at a meeting to ensure their participation in the Islamabad ‘lockdown’. He said ITF’s 40 teams had been constituted to move from different locations at different timings and reach Islamabad along with party workers and supporters. He said a 200-member committee had been constituted for transport, accommodation and food arrangements.

Mr Shah said PTI Chairman Imran Khan was the only leader, who was standing tall against “corrupt rulers”. He urged the members to contact people in their neighbourhoods and convince them to become part of the Nov 2 protest in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, PTI MPA Shoaib Siddiqui met Anjuman Tajraan Lahore President Mian Tariq Feroze, General Secretary Haji Tahir Naveed and others, who vowed that they would fully support PTI in its Nov 2 endeavour.

The traders’ leaders said the incumbent rulers did nothing for their community except promising greener pastures. They said the traders would fully participate in the PTI’s Nov 2 protest. Mr Siddiqui said the rulers would not be given more time and soon be held accountable. Despite government plans of creating hurdles, he said, the PTI would put up a bigger show on Nov 2.

As many as 20 families comprising Gujjar and Bhatti clans, including a PML-N ticket-holder, announced joining the PTI in the presence of Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed. Those who joined the PTI belonged to the constituency of prospective Lahore mayor Khawaja Hassaan.
