Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakria on Saturday condemned the killing of a young boy Javed Mir by Indian forces in India-held Kashmir (IHK).

Zakria claimed that Javed Mir was the sole breadwinner of his family and was not part of any protest against the Indian occupation.

"Unarmed and part of no protest, Javed was sole breadwinner of his family. Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Javed Mir shaheed," said Zakria in his tweet while expressing condolences to the family of the deceased.

Zakria reiterated Pakistan's stance against the injustices done by the Indian forces in Indian occupied Kashmir and condemned the use of the pellet guns due to which hundreds of Kashmiris have been blinded.

"More than 150 have been martyred hundreds blinded by pellet guns and thousands injured in IoK since July 8, This #MustStop," the tweet said.

The foreign office spokesperson raised concerns about the health and treatment of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, who is in the custody of Indian authorities. Malik was reportedly transferred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as his health condition got worse.

He also termed the detention of other Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiri activist Asiya Andrabi as illegal.

"Hurriyat leaders Geelani Sb and Mirwaiz remain in illegal detention and so does Kashmiri women leader Asiya Andrabi. This is highly deplorable." he tweeted.

The 22-year-old youth Javed Ahmad Mir, a student of first year, was killed after sustaining head injury with one of the teargas shells fired by the police to disperse protesters in Nasrullahpora area of the district on Friday.

According to Kashmir Media Service, residents of the area said that the police resorted to heavy teargas shelling and aerial firing without any provocation.

Soon after Javed’s killing, people from Nasrullahpora and adjoining areas staged forceful protests. The demonstrations were also held in other areas of Budgam including Soibugh, Galwanpora, Sebdan, Bathara and Dooru.

With the killing of Javed Ahmad Mir, death toll in the ongoing Kashmir Intifada rose to 111. The Intifada was triggered by the extra-judicial murder of noted freedom-fighter Burhan Muzaffar Wani on July 8.

Besides these killings, over 14,000 people have been injured so far due to the firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells by Indian troops and police on peaceful demonstrations during the Intifada.
