LAHORE: Mr Saeedullah Shah, the father of Dawn Media Group director (north) Kashif Saeed, breathed his last in Islamabad on Friday. He was 78.

Mr Shah had gone to bed after offering Fajr prayers when he suffered cardiac arrest and passed away in his sleep.

His funeral prayers were offered after Asr and was laid to rest in an Islamabad graveyard the same day.

Qul ceremony will be held at 112-G, Park Avenue, F-11/1, Islamabad, at 11am on Sunday (Oct 23).

Mr Shah was a career educationist and his last job was with the University Grants Commission (now Higher Education Commission) as its advisor.

He has left behind two sons – Kashif Saeed and Mansoor Saeed, three daughters – Huma, Sobia and Sadia – and nine grandchildren.
