DUBAI: West Indian Master Blaster Chirs Gayle on Friday said he is he really excited to be part of Pakistan Super League (PSL) again and promised Pakistan fans to entertain them while representing Karachi Kings in the second edition of the league next February.

Talking exclusively to Dawn News in Dubai after the PSL draft, Gayle said that he feels for Pakistan cricket fans who have been deprived of international cricket for the past many years now. “I must praise Pakistan cricket fans for keeping their love for the game alive despite a barren period at home,” said Gayle. “It is evident from how enthusiastically they support the PSL.”

“I will do my best to get my team into the PSL final next year so that I can play in Lahore in front of the Pakistani crowds,” Gayle added.

Gayle said he is also trying to learn Urdu but jokingly added that hopefully his friends from Pakistan will teach him all the good words in their language.

Earlier, speaking at the press conference, Gayle thanked all-rounder Shoaib Malik and Karachi Kings for picking him up in the squad for PSL and added that the Karachi team looks very balannced and will do better in the event.

Gayle asserted that he just does not want to be known as a T20 player only and as his performance in Tests and ODIs is equllay good. “I will try my best to further improve my Test and ODI record. improve further in future.

Former Sri Lankan Captain Kumar Sangakkara will lead the Karachi Kings for the 2nd Edition of PSL.
