At least two people were killed and nine were wounded in a land mine explosion in Balochistan's Sibi district on Thursday.

A security official told DawnNews a vehicle carrying local tribesmen hit a land mine in Babar Kach area of Sibi district.

"Two tribesmen were killed on the spot whereas nine suffered wounds. The injured were rushed to district headquarter hospital Sibi for medical treatment," he said.

The official informed that unknown miscreants had planted the landmine on the roadside, which caused the human loss.

"The tribesmen were coming from Sangan area to Sibi when their vehicle hit the landmine in Babar Kach area. Security forces reached the spot as investigation into the incident went underway," the security official added.

Emergency was imposed in the hospital to treat the injured of the blast. The blast also damaged the vehicle carrying the tribesmen.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
