National Security Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Nasser Janjua on Friday presided over a meeting in Islamabad regarding the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).

During the session, it was decided that provincial committees will be formed in all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan to oversee the implementation of NAP at the provincial level.

The new committees headed by the concerned chief ministers are expected to report to the national committee after every 15 days.

During the meeting, representatives of the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (Nacta) provided a briefing on NAP's progress and frameworks for the effective implementation of NAP were prepared.

It was further decided that all provinces will implement all points of NAP without discrimination.

The meeting was attended by the interior secretary, the home secretaries of all four provinces, provincial agencies, intelligence agencies, representatives of Nacta, representatives of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Military Intelligence (MI).
