BAHAWALPUR: The commerce contractual teachers of government colleges have demanded that the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) regularise their services.
According to a press release, Commerce Teachers’ Association President Mirza Javed Iqbal and Vice President Malik Mudassar said 886 contractual teachers working since 2004 across the province had not been regularised though those hired on contract in 2012 had got a permanent employee supply. He appealed to the chief minister and the Tevta head regularise them.
PEEF: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is expected to distribute Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) scholarships to local students in October.
Commissioner Saqib Zafar said this at a PEEF meeting on Friday. The meeting, attended by college principals and university officials, heard that last year 18,151 students of the Bahawalpur division had been given scholarships of Rs690 million.
