Adnan Sami in hot water after tweet on India LoC episode

During such times, all it takes is one tweet to aggravate an entire nation
30 Sep, 2016

There is outrage in Pakistan and India, more so after the crossfire at LoC.

Sentiments are at an all-time high and a number of celebrities from both countries have chosen their stance. During such strained relations, all it takes is one tweet to aggravate an entire nation and that's exactly what Adnan Sami did.

The ex-Pakistani singer, who recently gained Indian citizenship last year, tweeted praise for the Indian armed forces and PM Narendra Modi.

Sami's tweet soon went viral and caused havoc on Twitter as people called him out for sharing sentiments with India and not Pakistan.

Before the matter could escalate, the 'Sun Zara' singer quickly responded to all the hate.

However, many were unconvinced by Sami's explanation.

Needless to say... Pakistanis are not happy.

Across the border though, he received lots of love from his Indian fans.

Here's how someone tried to explain it.

He has to come up with such an expression otherwise some in India will question his true credentials. For now he has pleased his new countrymen.

Guys - chill. He is an Indian now and expressed what every Indian could have expressed. By responding his tweets Pakistani people are not going to achieve anything. With these tweets his fan-base in India has skyrocketed. Ordinary citizens on both sides love peace, harmony and progress. We must fight poverty and illiteracy. I am sure all of us will realize then, that we don't have real walls.... We will realize that the border is an illusion we believed in for so many years.. Long Live India, Long Live Pakistan.

His Father Shaukat Sami served the PAF and received a medal too. His Son lives in Pakistan. He earned everything ( fame /money) from Pakistan and now serving the all time enemy India. Amazing how one can change the loyalties and betraying the mother land. Just wait for the time and then " Na ye ghar ka rahay ga na Ghaat ka .... as he hasn't experienced the intolerance to his NEW country men...
