Fawad Khan has not 'secretly' returned to Pakistan — he's been here all along

Indian websites reported that Fawad had secretly returned from India today due to MNS' recent threats
Updated 27 Sep, 2016

While Indian media ran headlines of Fawad Khan's secret departure from India today, it turns out the popular actor has been in Pakistan — for at least a month.

No Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Delhi or Mumbai has landed in Lahore or Karachi today, and Lahore airport authorities confirm that Fawad has not been at the airport.

Fawad's PR rep also confirmed that the actor has been in Pakistan for at least a month's duration to be with his wife, Sadaf, who is expected to deliver their second child this month.

The misleading news from Indian media comes in the wake of the 48-hour deadline to leave India given by nationalist party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which threatened consequences if Fawad and other Pakistani artistes in India did not comply.

Prior to MNS' threats, an Indian journalist had penned an open letter to Fawad Khan in response to the Uri attack, asking him to return to Pakistan. "We have watched in pain how you have chosen to look away when your country is inflicting pain on us." he wrote.

Some publications are speculating that Fawad will not be able to 'return' to India for promotions of his third Bollywood film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil due to the MNS threats. However, his PR rep said that Fawad's travelling schedule is not set and is largely dependent on the arrival of his second child.

Our Indian friends have a habit of jumping the gun. Within seconds of the Uri attack they blamed Pakistani without any proof. In this case, they wanted Fawad to come back to Pakistan without even doing a little research as to where he was. Very embarrassing for India and the Indian journalist who wanted Fawad to leave India. Fawad Khan has acted like a true gentleman in all this.

A very good luck to 'Papa once again'. The 48 hour deadline is over and as expected MNS didn't do anything. MNS is just a group of people, not a political party. They want to remain in news to show their presence. I think Pak industry should try to show their movies in North India (leave Mumbai and Maharashtra). Im sure that not all but elite and educated class people will love them just like they loved their neat & clean and realistic dramas. I want to watch Pak movies in our cinema halls and on TV channels.

I like this talented guy. The problem with haters is that whatever they do they can not stop a talent to flurish.

The Bollywood dramas of Indians are crossing all limits. Resorting to lies seem to have seeped deep into them.

An actor can act everywhere at home,at Lollywood,Bollywood,or Hollywood, recently a Pak actress Komal Rizvi invited to work in Hollywood. Fawad Khan is a talented actor,he may ask Indian directors to complete their shoots in Dubai, Singapore,HK,Sri Lanka,Thailand,Japan,Australia,Switzerland,Spain,Seychelles,USA,Canada,no big deal you can skip India and produce better films abroad. There are much better and secure places all over the world for filming, you just need an eye to chose.

He should stay in Pakistan and flourish; and not come back to India. India does not need him.

@sunil Sunil Pakistan is a huge market for Indian films compared to a paltry few artists from Pakistan who have ventured out in India. You cannot afford to lose the market of Pakistan. So by inviting Pakistani artists Indian film producers are not doing them any favour. Pakistanis are there to make money for Indian producers. Indian businessmen are too clever to waste their money if it does not pay them any dividend.

@KnowTheTruth Fawad has been in Pakistan all along. The fools in India are trying to get the credit of denigrating Pakistani artists for political issues between between the two neighboring countries.
