KARACHI: The Civil Aviation Authority has decided to keep the airspace over northern areas closed on Monday after completion of four flights early in the morning.

This is the third time in five days that the Civil Aviation Authority has closed the airspace over the region. The airspace was closed on Sunday and Wednesday too. The reason for the closure was not made public.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has rescheduled its four flights for the day.

According to PIA spokesperson Danyal Gilani, the Islamabad-Gilgit flight (PK-607) will take off from the federal capital at 5.15am and the Gilgit-Islamabad flight (PK-608) at 7am.

The Islamabad–Skardu flight (PK-451) will leave at 5.15am and the Skardu–Islamabad flight at 7am.
