KARACHI: Pakistan’s veteran Test batsman Younis Khan who is in hospital these days after suffering from high-grade fever, is recuperating fast and would be discharged in the next couple of days.

Talking to reporters on Friday here at the hospital, the 38-year-old Younis said he had undergone a number of medical tests including those for dengue fever, adding “all these tests had come okay and there is nothing to worry about”.

Interestingly, Younis, the highest run getter for Pakistan in Test matches, revealed that he had fever before Eid-ul-Azha but he did not disclose it to his family.

As the body temperature started rising with the passage of time, Younis said he visited the hospital where he had several tests which revealed there was nothing serious.

His bed in the hospital surrounded with bouquets, Younis thanked his fans for sending him get-well-soon wishes.

The former Pakistan captain said he wanted to recover soon and perform well against the West Indies in the three-Test series next month in the UAE.
