TOBA TEK SINGH: The Government MC High School, Jhang Road, has no clean drinking water facility and the students have to bring water in coolers every day from a filtration plant on Bhalair Road.

All the students of the school, established before the Partition, have to perform this ordeal turn by turn.

Headmaster Muhammad Shafiq says the water supplied by the tehsil municipal administration (TMA) is not potable so the students bring water from a nearby filtration plant.

He claims the students bring water voluntarily and they are never forced to do that.

The students have been asked to bring water for their consumption in plastic bottles from home, he adds.

Executive District Officer Education Syed Waheeduddin says clean drinking water will be supplied to the school soon as Rs100m have been allocated for the missing facilities in the public schools of the district.
