KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that all efforts were being made to provide good education, best healthcare and employment opportunities to each and every citizen of this province.

The CM stated this while talking to the media after laying a wreath and offering Fateha on the grave of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to pay homage to and mark the 68th death anniversary of the father of nation on Sunday.

Accompanied by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and his cabinet members, the CM said he and his cabinet members visited the Mazar-i-Quaid to pay respect to the father of nation who created this beloved country where every citizen, irrespective of religion, was leading a respectable life. “It becomes our collective responsibility to keep this country a cradle of peace and tranquillity,” he said.

The CM said he has reset the trend of punctuality in office enabling efficiency in discharging responsibilities to deliver to the people. “What I want from every individual is to turn up at their work at 9am as this is the panacea for our various problems,” he said. “If you start your day very late you would not be able to do justice with your work and yourself.”

On the occasion the CM vowed to serve the people of Sindh irrespective of socio-political and religious background. “This was the teaching of our Quaid and today I make this vow to the people of Sindh at his mazar,” he said.

The CM in his message on the eve of Baldia Factory tragedy said that the Baldia factory fire was one the worst incidents in the history of the country which claimed over 250 lives, including a large number of women workers. “This can be termed as a crime against labourers.”

He said that he had sought a detailed report from home, labour and prosecution departments so that necessary action could be taken with regards to the payment of compensation to the families of victims, fulfillment of labour rights, and strong prosecution of those guilty.

The CM said that he had received briefing on the chemical examination of the Baldia Factory fire incident from the Forensic Lab, Lahore during his recent visit to Punjab. “The case is pending in the court that’s why I cannot comment on it. But yes, I would not spare anyone found guilty in the tragedy.”
