Smiles, sweat and stares - we go behind the scenes of the team's win against India in the T-20s last year
Updated 25 Jun, 2017

The Pakistani women's cricket team's journey is one well worth documenting.

And coffee table book Women In Green has done just that.

A project by the Bilquis and Abdul Razak Dawood (BARD) Foundation, this new book features photographs taken by Mahwash Rehman of the Pakistan women's cricket team.

The book has been published by Markings Publishing, whose CEO Kiran Aman describes it as "one project which gave us great pride and joy!"

"We are truly happy to have such opportunities come our way that help us achieve our vision of nurturing a platform that encourages a diversity of expression. We pride ourselves on working on projects that are bold, empowering and original and Women In Green encapsulates this spirit," said Kiran in conversation with Images.

"We began working on this book in January 2016," Kiran further revealed. "While we were in the middle of book development, we decided to pause work for a month as our women in green were traveling to India for the World T-20 Cup and Mahwash wanted to get more images so she also traveled to India with the team. What made it even more exciting was our team beat India! Mahwash calls this the tipping point of her project and how everything came together with a supreme win in India and the book."

Photographer Mahwish Rehman shares some unseen photos from her project.

Mashallah very nice photos. Despite their early and somewhat unfortunate loss to South Africa on Sunday, ICC Trophy 2017, the Pakistani women's team has the capability to do much better I.a Wishing them the best of luck in their next games.
