According to police, Mohammad Suhail and Naik Dar, brothers of the Jamaat-i-Islami’s District Councillor Shad Nawaz Khan, were coming to Timergara when armed men attacked their vehicle. The attack left Mohammad Suhail dead, while Naik Dar escaped unhurt.

Police immediately launched checking of vehicles in various areas to arrest the attackers.

During the checking, some men opened fire on a police team in Rabaat bazaar, severely wounding constables Fazal Wahab and Zubair Khan.

One of the attackers and a school student were wounded when the police personnel returned fire.

The wounded policemen and student were taken to the Timergara District Headquarters Hospital where the constables died.

The attacker wounded by police firing jumped into the nearby Panjkora river but was brought out and arrested.

Two other attackers escaped.
