QUETTA: Security forces sealed a seminary near Quetta’s Eastern Bypass on Sunday and took 100 Afghan students into custody as they did not have valid documents, according to a Dawn.com report.
“A search operation was conducted inside the seminary and the Afghan students were arrested under the Foreigners Act,” said a security official.
The students were handed over to different police stations for questioning.
Security forces also seized suspicious literature and other material from the seminary.
According to the security official, the Afghan nationals staying at the seminary illegally will be repatriated to Afghanistan.
Security forces have intensified a crackdown against Afghans in the aftermath of the Quetta carnage of Aug 8, which left more than 70 people dead.
