ISLAMABAD: Though heavy rain on Saturday increased the beauty of Islamabad, patients visiting Polyclinic had to face great difficulties because rainwater entered the corridors of the hospital.
Sarfraz Ahmed, a patient, while talking to Dawn said rainwater had inundated the corridor of outpatient department (OPD).
“It is the failure of the administration that the rainwater entered the hospital. A number of patients suffered because it was not possible to walk in the corridors,” he said.
“The management of the hospital should take notice of the issue and ensure that the water should not enter the hospital next time,” he said.
The media coordinator of Polyclinic Dr Sharif Astori, however, blamed the ongoing construction work in the hospital for flooding of the corridor with rainwater.
“We are placing new tiles on the walls of the corridors, which broke the drain pipes, allowing the rainwater to enter the corridors,” he said.
Replying to a question he said at some places tiles had been fixed but the construction had yet to be completed.
He assured that after the completion of construction work rain water would never enter the hospital.
