PESHAWAR: The PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa coordination committee has finalised its report on the reorganisation of the party in the province and will submit it to the central leadership next month.

This was disclosed by former PPP provincial general secretary Mohammad Humayun Khan in a news statement issued here.

The PPP leader said the imminent reorganisation would strengthen the party in the province and thus, leveling the ground for its victory in the next general elections.

“The way the party is to be reorganised will address the grievances of all disgruntled workers and thus, strengthening the party,” he said.

Mr. Humayun Khan said the PPP was the only national party, which was equally popular among the people of all age groups.

He said it was to the PPP’s credit that its top leader, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was very young, energetic and fully aware of democratic norms to properly accommodate the people.

The PPP leader said the party workers had differences at different levels but they were united under the leadership of Bilawal.

He urged workers to end differences and get together to strengthen the PPP to enable its nominees to win the next elections.

Mr. Humayun Khan said the PPP had always raised voice against injustices, dictatorship and exploitation and rendered great sacrifices for it.

He said PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari had accommodated all political parties in the party’s last government in the centre just to strengthen democratic institutions in the country.

The PPP leader said the party would continue working the welfare of poor people, especially labourers and farmers, to enable them to earn livelihood honourably.

STRONGER ACCOUNTABILITY: Senior PPP leader Liaquat Shabab on Saturday said his party would dissolve the National Accountability Bureau and KP Ehtesab Commission after coming to power and introduce a stronger accountability system in all government departments.

He was addressing a public meeting in Ashoorabad area of Nowshera on Saturday.

On the occasion, members of 45 families announced they had quit the ANP and PTI to join the PPP. Mr. Shabab said the provincial government’s policy of ignoring senior government officials and favouring juniors for key postings had caused bad governance.

He said the PPP would try to strengthen the departmental accountability systems after coming into power by winning elections.

The PPP leader said the KPEC and NAB discouraged officials to perform assigned tasks diligently.

He alleged the government was harassing senior bureaucrats by different ways and means.

Mr. Shabab said the PPP government would restore the honour of senior officials to optimally use their abilities for good governance.

He said the PTI government had miserably failed to deliver the goods in the province to the misery and disappointment of the people, especially the poor.

APPOINTMENTS DEMANDED: The local PPP leaders have demanded the central leadership appoint the party’s political secretaries to districts for better coordination at the grassroots levels.

Former PPP tehsil president Din Mohammad and former information secretary Ihsanullah Khan told reporters in Lakki Marwat that the appointment of political secretaries at district level would ensure the leadership’s liaison and coordination with party activists.

They said the proposed political secretaries should be tasked with bringing the problems of workers to the notice of the leadership with solutions. The PPP leaders said they and other activists in the district would support former minister Anwar Saifullah Khan for the office of the party’s provincial president.
