NOWSHERA: Adviser to the prime minister and PML-N leader Engineer Amir Muqam on Friday said if PTI chairman Imran Khan could join hands with those shouting anti-Pakistan slogans to get the slot of a district municipal corporation’s vice chairman for his party in Karachi, he could stoop to any low to become the prime minister.

He was addressing a public meeting in Bara Banda area here, scores of workers of various political parties announced the joining of the PML-N.

Mr. Muqam said the PTI chief could even join hands with the Indian prime minister if he saw an opportunity in it to get the prime ministerial slot.

He said Imran Khan had adopted double standard as on one hand, he criticised the metro bus and motorway projects initiated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif but on the other, his party’s government had launched similar projects in KP.

The PML-N leader said Imran Khan had filed a reference with the Election Commission of Pakistan against the prime minister.

He said Imran Khan first demanded judicial commission but later withdrew the demand as he used to do.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is committed to freeing the country of terrorism and will not leave any stone unturned for it,” he said.

Mr. Muqam said the people, who shouted slogan against Pakistan, would be brought to justice.

He said the prime minister was determined to end loadshedding and bring peace and prosperity in the country.

The PML-N leader said his party would for the next federal government, too, after sweeping elections and that the next government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would also be led by it.

He said Imran Khan should present himself for accountability over the billion tree project corruption.

Mr. Muqam later announced different gas and power projects for Nowshera.

He criticised Chief Minister Pervez Khattak for leveling corruption allegation against him and said the CM should disclose his pre-1988 financial position.

“I’ve been living in 30 kanals house long before I formally became a politician in 2002. I’ll quit politics if anyone proves corruption charges against me. They’re baseless and misleading,” he said.

The PML-N leader said he would have left the chief minister’s office long ago had he been as toothless as Pervez Khattak was.

He insisted the provincial government was actually run by PTI MNAs Jahangir Tareen and Asad Umar.
