KARACHI: The Sindh government on Friday said it had made functional health camps at entry points of the province to ensure that no livestock carrying lethal tick causing Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) could create health problem here.
“Medical camps have been functionalised at our entry points where animals coming to Sindh from other provinces are being put under mandatory spray to make sure that they are not carrying CCHF,” said Sindh Livestock Minister Mohammed Ali Malkani while speaking to the media after inaugurating a large cattle market situated at the Superhighway ahead of Eidul Azha.
He said the CCHF virus was a reality, but it was still not that serious.
He said a couple of such cases, apart from Karachi, had been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab as well.
“We are very much aware of the situation and are taking all required measures,” he added.
