LAHORE: Appeal against the Lahore High Court decision on Orange Line construction work around the heritage sites will be filed in two days and the Punjab government hopes that the court will allow this project of public welfare, says Khwaja Hassaan.

At a meeting of the steering committee, he said the Punjab government had a solid case for the project as it would benefit eight million people every month.

He said the project was now nearly 45 per cent complete. The package one of the train – from Daira Gujran to Chauburji – is complete by 56 per cent, second part – Chauburji to Ali Town – 40 per cent and part three by 42 per cent.

He said despite suspension of work, overall schedule of the project remained the same. The government was still not revising the timeline and would try to complete the project within the original time frame.
