DUBLIN: The last of the two One-Day Internationals (ODI) between Ireland and Pakistan was washed out on Saturday.
Pakistan after securing 255-run — their biggest in terms of runs in the format — victory over the hosts on Thursday won the series 0-1.
Sharjeel Khan was declared man-of-the-series for a blistering 86-ball 152 in the first match.
Pakistan now head back to England for five-ODI series, beginning from August 24 at Southampton.
Azhar Ali's men are required to put up a flawless show during the upcoming series to ensure automatic qualification for the 2019 ICC World Cup in England.
Top seven teams, along with England, by September 30, 2017 will qualify for the mega event.

All the cricket matches in Ireland, South Africa and West Indies have been halted due to rain. No wonder cricket is not a popular sport even after 200 years. Its high time something is done about the weather interventions. How can we expect countries like China, Americas Europe or other middle Eastern countries to adopt the game.

@karachi Wally Its not only Cricket that was affected by adverse weather, many other activities needed to be rescheduled due to excessive precipitation. Its just the way it is where there is abundance of rain. Only entity that can intervene when it comes to natural phenomena like weather is God (start praying) or roof over the stadiums. As for the Cricket popularity; its already being played in Europe and Americas albeit its not as popular as other sports like Football, Rugby etc. I think we should be more concerned by lack of home games in Pakistan rather than popularity of the game in China. We should protest that we as a country are being deprived of the game, that we love, on security grounds so much so that even our PSL has adopted UAE as its home base; Go Figure.

@karachi Wally. Agreed! If other sports like American football can be played in controlled environment why not cricket?
