LAHORE: The Baghbapura police registered on Friday a rape case against a sub-inspector (SI) and his two unidentified accomplices.

A woman of Fatehgarh was found unconscious on a road and was taken to the Mayo Hospital for treatment by the Baghbanpura police.

The woman, after gaining consciousness, lodged a complaint with Baghbanpura police, stating that she was buying fruits from a vendor in Fatehgarh when she was kidnapped by three men on a land cruiser.

She said that the vehicle stopped in front of a furniture showroom and two people dragged her to the showroom.

She alleged that three people, including the SI, first tortured and then raped her.Baghbanpura police registered the case against the SI and two others under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Cantonment Division SP Ibadat Nisar told Dawn that one of the main accused in the case was arrested and efforts were on to nab others. He said initial investigation revealed that the woman was not kidnapped, however, they were waiting for DNA reports to verify the allegations.
