LAHORE: The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) decided on Friday to impart free education in its institutions to Sikhs and Hindus.

The ETPB took this decision in its 302nd meeting.

ETPB Chairman Siddiqul Farooq told reporters after the meeting that the participants also recommended the federal government to make the ETPB an autonomous body. Participants also approved the appointment of directors (finance and planning and development), he said, adding that they also approved the promotion of officers and officials, including Sewadaran posted at Gurdawaras in grade 14, changing their designation from Sewadar to Garanthi and reopening of the Kayara Sahib temple, closed for the last 70 years.
