PESHAWAR: A man killed his nomad tenant for delaying payment of Rs500 rent of a tent he had put on his land.

The incident took place in the limits of Paharipura police station on Wednesday night. Police identified the victim as Zahoor Hussain. They said that the vicitm’s wife reported that they had rented the space from their landlord Abdur Rehman to pitch their tent in Chughalpura locality of the city.

She said that on Wednesday the landlord came over to collect the rent, but when they told him that they would make the payment in a few days as they had no money he got enraged and after exchange of hot words shot his husband in the head.

He was taken to Lady Reading Hospital, but did not survive. Police said that they registered an FIR and had started investigation. The relatives of the victim came to the Peshawar High Court on Thursday and told mediapersons there that the local police were forcing them to enter into a compromise with the alleged killer.
