TAXILA: A man who went missing some four days ago from the Malikabad area of Wah Saddar police was found strangled and burnt near Burhan Bridge in Hassanabdal police area.

According to police, passersby spotted the burnt body of a man and informed the police who shifted it to tehsil headquarters hospital for postmortem which revealed that the man was strangled to death before burning his body. His major limbs were also chopped with some blunt object before being set it on fire.

The reason behind this murder could not be known as police were in the process of obtaining mobile phone data of the deceased. Police suspected it was an honor killing case.

While in another incident, a motorcyclist identified as Ali Shah was hit by a truck on GT road in limits of Wah Saddar Police station killing him on the spot. The truck driver managed to flee.

Meanwhile, a married woman was abducted by three persons in Wah Cantonment police area. Police have registered a case on the complaint of her husband and started further investigation.

In a related development, the local police have released CCTV images of two members of a gang involved in robberies and street crimes in Wah Saddar police area.
