PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the provincial government will market its natural resources in the Chinese market during a visit of a delegation to the country in August.

He stated this while presiding over a meeting to discuss the visit of the provincial delegation to China, according to a statement issued here on Sunday.

Provincial Minister for Education Mohammad Atif Khan, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, administrative secretaries of home, finance and irrigation departments and other relevant officials attended the meet.

The chief minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was replete with natural resources and that the government was going all out to explore, exploit and market these advantages. The provincial government would offer these advantages to the potential investors to come and invest and get more dividends of their invested money, he added.

Mr Khattak said the government had already planned facilitation of potential investors through a one-window operation. He said the government had put the province towards a rapid industrialisation. The province was about to use its natural gas and hydel potential to be properly and systematically harnessed for the benefit of people. If we could not use these resources for the future of our people and development of our province then these resources would be of no use, he stressed.

The meeting was informed that the delegation visiting China will explore possibilities of building a circular-railway around Peshawar. The delegation would also negotiate with the Chinese officials the power generation projects to serve energy needs of many industrial setups in the province.

The Chinese will also be asked to set up industrial estates in KP. The visit of the provincial delegation would also explore possibilities of bringing Chinese automobile manufacturers to KP.
