I AM a senior citizen who embarked from Islamabad airport with my wife on July 15 July for the USA. The purpose of writing this letter is to point out the failings of the aviation authority at the Islamabad airport.

We arrived at the airport around 6pm with lots of luggage and started looking for a porter. The porters’ desk was unattended and the booking supervisor was missing. Ultimately we did find a porter after much wait and delay.

The porter charges are extraordinarily high. The CAA levy is Rs400, plus Rs150 for a mandatory tip, without which the porter will not let you proceed further. There are old and frail people travelling abroad, who need help with their luggage. Why can’t they receive timely facilitation? I hope the concerned agency will look into the matter.
