DADU: Dadu police on Saturday claimed to have killed a dacoit carrying Rs1 million on his head and arrested four others wanted by police in many cases of heinous crimes.

Dadu SSP Munir Shaikh told a press conference in his office that Yousif Patojo, a dacoit carrying a head-money of Rs1 million notified by the Sindh government, was killed in an encounter with a team of the Rukan police at Phulji station bypass late on Friday evening. He was wanted in 34 cases of heinous crimes registered against him at various police stations in Sindh.

The SSP said that three other encounters took place near Fareedabad, Mehar bypass and a locality along Mohammed Khan Khushik link road. The ringleader of a gang, Ali Dino Abro, Zahid Siyal, Sajan Siyal, Yousuf Panhwar and Ghulab were arrested after the encounters.

The police teams also seized several guns and ammunition from the arrested dacoits, he added.

Sindh police chief A.D. Khawaja has announced Rs300,000 reward for the members of the teams that took part in the encounters.
