Mawra Hocane earned herself quite a repute in the entertainment industry after her Bollywood debut Sanam Teri Kasam, and now she's looking towards more challenging roles.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the Pakistani actor said that she's interested in venturing into period dramas.

“I want to take up something like Umrao Jaan, basically period dramas. I love them on screen and it would be interesting to act in one,” she said.

At the moment, however, she's still on the lookout and finalising details of other projects.

“I am reading scripts at the moment and finalising details. I am open to working in all genres and don’t want to limit myself by looking for work in a particular type of film,” added Mawra.

The former VJ and model/actress has come a long way from stage dramas during her early years and isn't afraid to experiment with scripts. Who's her inspiration? The Bollywood beauty on the verge of global domination, Priyanka Chopra.

“I don’t want to plan anything. I like to take things as they come, especially when it comes to my career. I just want to keep working. Be it films in India or abroad, I am willing to take up good work. I love Priyanka Chopra’s style of work and would love to follow her career path,” she says.

She's already forgetting she's a Pakistani, and saying "films in India and abroad" instead of "films in Pakistan and abroad". You are already abroad girl.
